The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced the 16-member squad wherein Rohit and KL Rahul have been named captain and vice-captain, respectively.

Known to be one of the greatest modern-day opening batter, Rohit Sharma is the most experienced T20 cricketer in the side who has represented the country since the inaugural 2007 World Cup in South Africa. Having played 108 innings in the T20 Internationals, Rohit Sharma has scored more than 3000 runs, including his highest score of 118 runs. He averages 32.67 runs per innings and has even got 4 centuries against his name in the format.

Rohit Sharma replaces Virat Kohli as T20I captain

As Rohit Sharma was appointed the captain in place of Virat Kohli in the T20 Internationals, fans have major expectations from the Mumbai Indians captain to showcase a different style of captaincy. Contrary to Virat, Rohit is known to be a much calmer leader who has even managed to lead MI to 5 IPL silverware.
