While the Kiwis will look to double their lead, Aaron Finch’s side will aim to level the series. Team News

New Zealand:

The hosts are expected to go with the same team that featured in the last match. Mark Chapman and Hamish Bennett, who missed the last T20I, are probably going to be the ones to miss out once again.

Australia:

The visitors might consider to make one or two changes to the side that played on Monday. Jason Behrendorff, Riley Meredith, Tanveer Sangha and Andrew Tye are the few bowling options that Australia might look at.

Analysis:

New Zealand registered a clinical win against Australia in the first T20I. Batting first, Devon Conway’s heroic knock (99* off 59) guided the Kiwis to a mammoth total of 184/5. While Glenn Phillips (30 off 20) and James Neesham (26 off 15) also played handy knocks, the hosts will be slightly worried about their top order. Martin Guptill (0) and Tim Seifert (1) had a disappointing outing and will be keen to make immense in this contest. The bowling department delivered as always as the fast-bowling duo of Trent Boult (2/22) and Tim Southee (2/10) completely rattled Aussies top-order. Ish Sodhi (4/28) did the rest as the Kiwis went on to win the match quite comfortably.

Australia, on the other hand, will come into this contest with a lot of doubts in their mind. While Jhye Richardson (2/30) and Daniel Sams (2/40) were impressive with the ball, the trio of Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson and Ashton Agar remained wicketless. Chasing a huge target, it was a completely dismal batting performance from the Aussies. Mitchell Marsh (45 off 33) was their leading run-scorer as six Australian players registered single-digit scores. They would certainly be hoping to come up with a better performance when the two sides meet again on Thursday.
