The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to host the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 from October 5 to November 19, 2023. The tournament will feature 10 teams that will fight for the ultimate title of world champions and the coveted trophy across ten different venues. A total of 48 games will be played during the tournament, with 45 of them would be group-stage games that will follow the round-robin format.
The teams are gearing up for the forthcoming tournament and working upon their training and best players combination. The opening game will be played between reigning champions, England and past edition’s runners-up, New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Speaking of New Zealand, the team is yet to win an ODI World Cup title, but they have performed well in the past editions, making it to the semi-finals six times. Speaking of the Kiwi squad for the upcoming tournament, though the official team is yet to be announced, SportsTiger makes a prediction of the 20-men squad for the big tournament.
Batters: Finn Allen, Chad Bowes, Henry Nicholls, Will Young, Devon Conway
New Zealand’s batting line-up comes with some of the top-class young names such as Devon Conway who was on absolute fire in the recently concluded season of the Indian Premier League. Finn Allen is known for his explosive innings as he opens for his side. Tom Latham will lead the team for the big tournament, and it goes without saying that the squad is in right hands as Kane Williamson is out of action due to his injury. Latham has exceptional wicket keeping skills and his ability to score runs simultaneously. Other than him, names like Glen Phillips and Tom Blundell will also be a good addition to the official squad, and help the team put their best foot forward.

Speaking of the all-rounding pool of the Kiwi squad, it has several promising names that can help New Zealand make their mark in the ODI World Cup 2023. The Hong Kong-born New Zealand cricketer, Mark Chapman represented the Kiwis for the first time in the Pakistan series and left everyone impressed with his skills. On the other hand, Daryl Mitchell is one of the most promising all-rounders, known for his consistency with the bat, and has been one of the most reliable all-rounders in the sport.
Rachin Ravindra, who was called in as a replacement in the squad against Sri Lanka missed the half-century mark in his first game for the country. Even on the Pakistan tour, Ravindra performed fairly well, which can be considered to include Ravindra in the squad.
