West Indies broke their 17-year-old jinx to win a series against India at home on Sunday, August 13. The Rovman Powell-led side who came into the decider having lost the third and fourth T20I against India, overcame the Indian attack in the final T20I to win the series 3-2.

While the hosts took the series, Nicholas Pooran bagged the ‘Player of the Series’ award after finishing as the leading run-scorer for his side. In his final inning of the five-match series, he scored 47 off 35 deliveries while taking on the blows from his teammate Brandon King and Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh.

Lately, the southpaw took to social media to show off his war marks which he picked off an Arshdeep Singh’s delivery, which hit him in the abdomen and a Brandon King shot that struck his left forearm as he stood at the non-striker’s end. Picture of the same is now doing rounds on social media.

The Trinidadian cricket also captioned the post, “The after effects that you brandon king and arshdeep.”

Talking of the fifth and final T20I which took place on August 13 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf ground in Lauderhill (Florida), Hardik Pandya-led side won the toss and opted to bat first. The Men in Blue posted 165/9 in their 20 overs, courtesy Suryakumar Yadav’s innings of 45-ball 61. However, their bowling side couldn’t replicate their last match heroics as Brandon King smashed bowlers all-round to take his side over the line with an unbeaten 85.
