Nick Kyrgios wishes Rafael Nadal speedy recovery after Spaniard withdraws from Wimbledon semifinal

The 27-year-old Australian took to social media to send a heartwarming message to Rafael Nadal, wishing him speedy recovery.

Australian tennis sensation Nick Kyrgios has reached his maiden slam final after Rafael Nadal confirmed his withdrawal from Wimbledon 2022 semi-final on Thursday. Kyrgios wished the Spaniard a speedy recovery from an abdominal tear that forced the latter to pull-out of SW19.

The 27-year-old Australian took to social media and sent a heartwarming message to Rafael Nadal.. Kyrgios posted a picture with Nadal and wrote, "different players, different personalities. @rafaelnadal I hope your recovery goes well and we all hope to see you healthy soon ??? till next time…."

Nadal didn't want to risk two or three months as the US Open is scheduled to take place in seven weeks time He said, "I had some issues in the abdominal since the week but things were more or less, I was able to control it but yesterday was the worse day. During the week I did tests to see how things evolved and it is obvious yesterday after the match, the very small thing I had days ago increased to a bigger thing..."

"I can't risk the match and risk two or three months out of the competition. It is my decision, I have to live with that and I can't say another thing. I am very sad", Nadal added further.

Meanwhile, defending champion Novak Djokovic will face home favourite Cameron Norrie on Friday. Notably, the Serb is on a 26-match winning streak in Wimbledon. The winner from this match will see Nick Kyrgios in the final of the Wimbledon 2022 Men's Singles event.
