Nick Kyrgios will be absent from the 2023 Mallorca Championships, set to take place from June 26 to July 1. The Australian tennis ace withdrew from the competition hours before Saturday afternoon's draw. This brings into notice that the chances of the 28-year-old to take part in Wimbledon 2023 looks further bleak.
Due to another withdrawal from the ATP 250 tournament in Mallorca the following week, Kyrgios will not be tested further before Wimbledon, and he has only played one match this season so far.
"Super disappointed that I can't compete in Mallorca," the 28-year-old said in a video post. "I've still got a lot going on with my body at the moment and with Wimbledon just around the corner hopefully I will be able to get healthy for that," he continued.
Due to an abdominal ailment, Nick Kyrgios was forced to withdraw from the Mallorca grass court competition last year. This year, he has only played one match, losing in the opening round of the Stuttgart tournament earlier this month.
