Playing his first Test series as captain, Shubman Gill is currently the leading run scorer in the ongoing Test series in England. Gill is far away from any of the batter in the series as he crossed 600 runs in first three matches. He was star performer in India’s famous win in Birmingham where he registered scores of 269 and 161 in both the innings respectively as the visitors defeated England by 336 runs.
However, after his match-winning performance in Birmingham, Shubman Gill couldn’t continue his form in the third Test at Lords as he failed to get a big knock. In the ongoing fourth Test in Manchester as well, Gill suffered a brain-fade moment as England skipper Ben Stokes dismissed him for just 12 runs.

Batting first on day one at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester, India got a good start as Yashasvi Jaiswal (58) and KL Rahul (46) put up an opening partnership of 94 runs. However, England made a comeback in the second session as they took three big wickets including KL Rahul, Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. After Gill’s dismissal, fans come up with different reactions on social media.
India lost three wickets on day one of the Manchester Test against England so far. Currrently, Sai Sudharsan is taking the innings further along with vice-captain as duo aim for another big partnership.
