Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India is all set to engage in a white-ball series against England starting from September 10 (Saturday) at Riverside Ground, in Chester-le-Street. Both the sides last faced each other in the first semi-final match of the recently concluded Commonwealth Games wherein Women in Blue emerged victorious. However, they finished with a silver, losing the gold-medal match against world champion Australia Women.

According to fresh reports, Team India had been asked to avoid playing music in the dressing room since England is mourning the demise of its longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. The report published in the Indian Express have further claimed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India flag at the venue will be at half-mast.

While reports has suggested that there is no restriction to player's celebration depending on their success on the field, commercial activities will be strictly restricted at the venue. Notably, women's 1st T20 international was one of the rare sporting events which had no effect on its itinerary following the shocking demise of England's Queen Elizabeth II.

Meanwhile, England and Wales Cricket Board had pushed the ongoing third and final Men's Test match against South Africa. The match was scheduled to start on September 8 (Thursday) but was washed away due to consistent rain, with ECB calling off the Day 2 of the Test match due to shocking passing away the Queen.

Ahead of the series opener, the skipper of Indian women cricket team Harmanpreet Kaur, opened up about her team's preparation for the series and claimed that the squad is working issues like finishing the game off well which has troubled the squad for long. "We are working on that. I know for a long time these things are troubling us. We need to show some patience and after a while we will start getting the results also," said Kaur.

The Indian women skipper also stated that two new batters Dayalan Hemalatha and KP Navgire have been roped in for the role of finisher. "Both have done really well in the domestic cricket. They have been included in the squad as a finisher and we are looking forward to see their game," concluded Kaur.
