India’s batting stalwart Virat Kohli has been going through one of the most challenging phases in his cricketing career. The 33-year-old, who once used to score centuries for fun, is now struggling to get one for almost three years. It has become bad to worse for Kohli as he is currently unable to get to half-centuries as well.

In the recently concluded England tour, Kohli scored 76 runs in six innings across three formats. These consistent failures of Virat Kohli have drawn a lot of flak and criticism from around the corner with some legendary cricketers also demanding his exclusion from the Indian setup. Former World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev was one of many who demanded that Kohli should be dropped.

However, many former cricketers including Kevin Pietersen have also come in support of Virat Kohli. The former English cricketer has backed Kohli to come good and start dominating world cricket again. Pietersen also shared a post on Instagram with a strong caption to show his support for Kohli.

"Buddy, your career has had some of the best that have played the game only wish they could have done what you have (so far). Be proud, walk tall & enjoy life. There's way more than just the bubble of cricket out there. You'll be back, @virat.kohli,” wrote Kevin Pietersen for Kohli. This post from Pietersen showing empathy for Kohli garnered a lot of reactions.

Around 450K people including a tennis star liked Kevin Pietersen’s post. Serbian tennis player and 21-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic was also among those 450K people to react to Pietersen’s heartfelt post.

It’s worth mentioning that Djokovic also had to struggle through a phase where a dip in form and injuries severely impacted his career for nearly two years from 2016. The Serbian superstar made a remarkable turnaround with his title-winning performance at the Wimbledon Championships in 2018.
