World ace tennis icon Novak Djokovic withdrew from the Miami Open 2024, and he confirmed the same over social media. The 24-time Grand Slam champion revealed that he aims to strike a balance between his personal and professional life, and hence, he decided to pull out of the competition. Djokovic recently suffered an R32 loss in Indian Wells, the competition to which he returned for the first time after 2019.

Djokovic slumped to Italy’s Luca Nardi with a scoreline of 4-6, 6-3, 3-6, earlier on Tuesday, March 12. Needless to say, the victory over the tennis GOAT marked a significant achievement for the world-ranked number 123, Nardi. The reigning world number one currently aims to gain his form back for the European clay-court season as well as the Paris Olympics 2024.

I’m balancing my private and professional schedule: Djokovic pulls out of Miami Open 2024

Novak Djokovic announced his decision to pull from the Miami Open 2024 on social media. He took to X to say, “Hi Miami! Unfortunately, I won’t be playing the Miami Open this year. At this stage of my career, I’m balancing my private and professional schedule. I’m sorry that I won’t experience some of the best and most passionate fans in the world. I’m looking fw competing in MI in future!”

Notably, this isn’t the first time the Serbian has withdrawn from the competition. After losing the Australian Open semifinal to Jannik Sinner, he skipped the tournaments in February and returned to action at Indian Wells. Talking about the Miami Open 2024, the main draw of the forthcoming tennis event will begin on March 19, and the final is scheduled to be played on March 30.
