Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 21 runs on DLS method with the help of stunning century from Fakhar Zaman and they still have a ray of hope to qualify for the semi-finals of World Cup 2023. Pakistan after losing four consecutive matches have won back-to-back games against Bangladesh and New Zealand to stay alive in the semi-finals race and here in this article, we will see how they can qualify easily.

Pakistan's remaining game in ODI World Cup 2023:

vs England in Kolkata, 11th Nov (2 PM IST)

ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Points Table:

India - 7 wins (7 games)

South Africa - 6 wins (7 games)

Australia - 5 wins (7 games)

New Zealand - 4 wins (8 games)

Pakistan - 4 wins (8 games)

Afghanistan - 4 wins (7 games)

Sri Lanka - 2 wins (7 games)

Netherlands - 2 wins (7 games)

Bangladesh - 1 win (7 games)

England - 1 win (7 games)

Pakistan can end with  maximum of fi five wins in the points table at ODI World Cup 2023 if they can win their final match against England.

Teams like India, South Africa and Australia already have five or more wins in the World Cup 2023 points table.

Now, we want six teams to have less than five wins in the points table for Pakistan to easily qualify for the semi-finals assuming they will beat England in their last game.

- New Zealand should lose to Sri Lanka and if that happens, they will end with only four wins in the points table.

- Afghanistan should lose their remaining games against Australia and South Africa for them to stay with four wins in the points table.

- Teams like Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Bangladesh and England already have lost five or more games in ODI World Cup 2023, hence they will stay below Pakistan in table.

Thus, Pakistan can qualify for semi-finals of ODI World Cup 2023, if they win their final match against England, provided New Zealand and Afghanistan lose their remaining games.
