Former Pakistan batter Inzamam-ul-Haq criticized the Lahore Qalandars skipper Shaheen Afridi for prioritizing personal milestones over the team's needs. The statement came following Lahore Qalandars’ humiliating defeat against Quetta Gladiators in their last fixture of the PSL 2024.

Despite blazing away a half-century in just 28 balls, the left-arm pacer faced backlash from Inzamam as according to him, the promotion of Shaheen Afridi was meant for a personal milestone over what the situation demanded. Inzi expressed that, along with Abdullah Shafique, Afridi played too many deliveries despite having hitters like David Wiese and Sikandar Raza in their ranks.

The scoring doesn’t do justice to it:  Inzamam-ul-Haq on Afridi's batting

Inzamam said, “This partnership between Abdullah Shafique and Shaheen Afridi…if you look at the scoreboard, then it looks very impressive, scoring 55 off 34 balls and the other scoring 59 off 39 balls. But the scoring doesn’t do justice to it”.

He further added, “Shaheen coming in to bat at No.5 but scoring at that pacer is not good for the team. When you have specialists such as David Wiese and Sikandar Raza, the score could have been better. Oh bhai…tez khel.”

Wasim Akram also criticises Shaheen Afridi

Former Pakistan bowler Wasim Akram also hits back at Shaheen Afridi after the Lahore Qalandars skipper displayed a “shush” celebration following his half-century in their last encounter against Quetta Gladiators. After smashing a six off Abrar Ahmed, the left-arm pacer celebrated his fifty with a celebration showing “shush” to the crowd.  Check the top betting trends on the   best betting apps in India   and sites.

Taking a jibe at it, Wasim Akram said that despite him getting runs on the board, there were many big hitters in the team such as Sikandar Raza and David Wiese. They didn’t even get a chance to bat.
