In the ongoing first Test match between England and New Zealand, James Bracey and Ollie Robinson were the two England players to be handed their maiden Test caps. James Bracey became 99th player and Ollie Robinson the 100th English player to debut at the Lord's. By doing so, Lord's became first ground where 100 home players made their debut at a single ground.

The debutant got England to a good start after sending New Zealand opener Tom Latham back to the pavilion on the last ball of the 15th over. New Zealand was put on the backfoot after the fall of this wicket, with Kane Williamson joining debutant Devon Conway in the middle.
