India’s cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 52nd birthday on April 24, 2025. Popularly known with the title ‘God of Cricket’ , Tendulkar took the craze of cricket to another level among the Indian fans and has inspired millions to take up the sport as a career. Sachin is all-time highest run-scorer across all formats of international cricket and only player to score 100 centuries.

Sachin Tendulkar made his debut for the Indian team at the age of 16 years in 1989. He revealed that he got the inspiration to play for India after watching the Indian team lift the Cricket World Cup trophy in 1983. After that, he made his ultimate goal to lift another World Cup for India. However, it took him 22 years of his career to lift the World Cup as India ended their 28-year-old ODI World Cup trophy drought in 2011 in front of their home crowd. This victory was special for India as this was Sachin’s last ICC event and he finally achieved his ultimate goal on his last attempt.

Sachin Tendulkar has played 200 Tests, 463 ODIs and one T20I in his international career, amassing 34357 in all three formats combined. Talking about his IPL career, Tendulkar was a part of Mumbai Indians from 2008 to 2013 and won the title with the franchise in 2013. He has scored 2334 runs from 78 matches in his IPL career. He bid adieu to all forms of cricket in November 2013 after a memorable career spanning of 24 years.

100 Centuries: Sachin Tendulkar is the only player to get a century of centuries in international cricket. He has scored 49 hundreds in ODIs and 51 hundreds in Test cricket.

Most player of the match awards (Tests+ODIs+T20Is): Sachin Tendulkar also boasts a records for getting most player of the match awards in his international career. He won a total 76 player of the match awards in all the formats combined.
