Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Mumbai Indians in a high-scoring thriller by 12 runs in match number 20 of IPL 2025 at Wankhede Stadium on Monday, April 7. For RCB, Krunal Pandya turned out to be a star with his sensational last over where he took three wickets and conceded only six runs as MI were restricted at 209/9 while chasing 222 runs. Meanwhile, Krunal's younger brother and MI skipper Hardik Pandya ended up being on the losing side despite scoring a quickfire 42(15) runs. After the match, Krunal said that he felt bad for Hardik but only one of them was supposed to win last night.

Notably, Hardik Pandya smashed two consecutive sixes against Krunal Pandya in the 15th over as MI were giving tough fight while chasing a target of 222 runs. However, Krunal made a comeback and ended up taking three wickets in the final overplaying crucial role in RCB’s victory. “The bond that we (Hardik and I) have, we knew there was only one Pandya that was supposed to win, the love and affection we have for each other is very natural. He (Hardik) batted really well and I feel for him, but we (our team) won and that is most important. When I came onto bowl, Santner was batting and leg side was shorter and the amount of games I played here in the last 10 years, at some point the experience had to come in,” Krunal said at the post-,match presentation.

Having Bumrah makes any team in the world very special: Hardik Pandya

Notably, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah also made his comeback on the cricket field during MI’s clash against RCB at Wankhede last night. Despite not getting any wicket, Bumrah had the best economy among all bowlers in a match where both the teams scored more than 200 runs. The right-arm pacer conceded 29 runs in his four overs at an economy rate of 7.25. After the match, MI skipper Hardik Pandya also hailed Bumrah for the impact he he carries while playing for any team.

“Having him (Bumrah) makes any team in the world very special. He came in and did his job, very happy to have him,” Pandya said at the post-match press conference.
