With the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is underway in India. With each playing at least two games, after 15 matches, the 2008 inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals comfortably sit at the top of the points table with three straight wins from as many games. On the contrary, the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) are reeling at the bottom of the table, yet to win a match in the tournament.
While the former MI skipper Rohit Sharma might be playing the IPL 2024 with MI, he is set to make an appearance in The Great Indian Kapil Show, alongside the KKR skipper and the Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer. However, the show has already been recorded ahead of the start of the tournament, the episode is set to roll out on Saturday, April 6.

In a teaser of the episode two of The Great Indian Kapil Show, which was shared by Netflix Indian on X, the host of the show, Kapil Sharma asked the Indian skipper, “There are mics nowadays on the stumps. Does it ever happen that you’ve gotten mad at someone?” To this the Indian skipper dropped a quirky response, stating, “Kar bhi kya sakta hun, ye humare ladke sust murge hai (What can I do? Our boys are lazy bums. They just don’t run)”.
This not only left the two Indian players on the show, Rohit and Shreyas Iyer burst into laughter, even Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, who was present in attendance during the show, erupted in laughter.

However, what all conversations unfolded during the show will come to rest as the show goes live on Netflix India on Saturday, April 6. Apart from this, the Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who are placed second in the points table will take on Delhi Capitals on Wednesday, April 3 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Meanwhile, t he Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in their next fixture at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 7.
