Fans flooded social media with reactions as the third umpire gave a controversial not-out to Dinesh Karthik in the IPL 2024 Eliminator. Royal Challengers Bengaluru clashed against Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 22, Wednesday. The match saw RR skipper Sanju Samson winning the toss, who invited the rivals to bat first. The Bengaluru-based franchise who came on the back of a five-match streak, started on a shaky note.
The Faf du Plessis-led franchise lost opener Virat Kohli and skipper on 33 and 17 runs respectively. RCB’s wicketkeeping batter Dinesh Karthik who came to bat at the seventh spot, survived a controversial dismissal. On the first ball of his innings, Karthik was given a not-out after he opted for an LBW review. However, the review showed a deviation of the bat, but the UltraEdge showed a small spike first when Karthik’s bat hit the pad before the ball.
