The 2016 hero shooter game has been in the gaming scene ever since its first release. The game took many key elements from CS:60 and then combined them with unique character abilities to make it one of the most successful games of 2016. Overwatch 2, a sequel of the game which was first revealed at BlizzCon 2019 is awaited by the fans who have been dying to get their hands on the sequel. As a result, Blizzard has agreed to showcase 2 hours of exclusive gameplay in a special fifth Anniversary Livestream on May 20. This will be followed by a Reddit AMA on the Overwatch subreddit on May 24, where the team will share more information on the development of Overwatch 2.

The first version of the game was completely PvP focused, pretty much like CS: GO. However, the sequel also includes PvE story missions, coming as an exciting update for the fans.

New dynamic maps coming to Overwatch 2

The 2-hour live stream will also include footage of some new maps that will be available in Overwatch 2. However, they are still in the development stage, thus the final game will have room for improvement. The 5th Anniversary special live stream will begin at 12 PM PT and will be available on both YouTube and Twitch. From new maps to major gameplay updates, we’re reinvigorating the core Overwatch experience,” Blizzard mentioned.

As of now, 2 new maps have been revealed- Rome and New York. While New York will be featuring iconic pizza spots and buildings, Rome will have a mix of old and modern architecture.

As of now, Blizzard hasn’t announced an official release date for Overwatch 2. However, all hints and developments point towards a possible release in 2022.
