Pakistan will be making their ninth straight appearance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, aiming to replicate their title winning campaign from 2009 under the captaincy of Babar Azam. In the previous edition of the T20 World Cup in 2022, Pakistan reached the final of the tournament, only to lose in a close encounter against England.

During the build-up to the T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan selectors made wholesale changes, appointing Shaheen Afridi as the new captain, but they removed him from the role within months, handing over the leadership role back to Babar Azam. There has been a lot of turmoil in the Pakistani ranks going into the upcoming ICC tournament, but they can never be ruled out of the reckoning when it really matters.

In this article, SportsTiger will look at Pakistan’s probable playing XI for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Saim Ayub, 22, who is one of the brightest young talents in Pakistan cricket, will be opening the batting for the national team in the T20 World Cup 2024 despite enduring a tough start to his international career in the past year. Mohammad Rizwan, known as a model of consistency in the T20I format, will be pairing up with him at the top of the order for Pakistan, but he has to improve his strike-rate to be more effective for the national team.
