What makes cricketers different from other people? Well, not much! They are like all other human beings in this world. However, because of the incredible things they do on the field, fans consider them idols. A special connection is often felt between players and fans, which just reflects the true beauty of what sports is all about. And a video surfacing on social media on Tuesday just proves this fact!

One of the users on the internet named Mohammad Ather, presumably a keen cricket lover, shared an emotional story of his late brother (Zafar) who was diagnosed with lung cancer (4th stage). Ather also posted a video where former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar can be seen having a delightful conversation with Zafar.

The batting maestro of his era assures Zafar that Tata's (where the patient was admitted) is the best hospital in Mumbai and the doctors are world-class there, who will definitely take good care of him. In a heartwarming manner, Gavaskar then motivates the cancer patient to keep fighting as he said, "Par aap me dum hona chahiye, aap dum dikhayiye."

Towards the end of the video, he can also be seen having a fun conversation where he tells that despite not being a foodie like Sachin Tendulkar, he ate lots of Biryani at his brother's place and had a great time. Gavaskar also blessed the patient.

The video dates back to January 2019 and was taken when Gavaskar visited Ather's place in Hamilton, New Zealand. Since India were touring NZ for a white-ball series, the commentator would have been in the country to cover the bilateral series.

"TATA’s gave him 6 months but my brave brother fought for 18 months. Sunny Bhai’s motivational words certainly helped," Ather stated in his caption. Zafar passed away on January 18, 2020, and his brother shared this heart-touching video on social media exactly two years later, in memory of him.
