On Sunday, August 4, Maheshwari Chauhan and Raiza Dhillon finished in 14th and 23rd places respectively after two tough qualification days in the women’s skeet event at the Paris Olympics 2024, failing to qualify for the final. At the Chateauroux Shooting Center, both the Indian women shooters were below par with their performances in qualification on day one, while their form didn’t improve on day two either.
Notably, Maheshwari Chauhan scored an aggregate of 118/125 across five rounds of 25 shots each in qualification, to end up in 14th place. Her compatriot Raiza Dhillon scored only 113/125, to end up in 23rd place in the 30-women field in the skeet event at the Paris 2024.
The top three finalists scored 122/125 in the qualification of the women’s skeet event, which included names like Austen Smith of the USA, Amber Rutter of Great Britain, and Emmanouela Katzouraki of Greece. Meanwhile, Vanesa Hockova of Slovakia notched up 121/125 to finish in 4th place
Francisca Crovetto Chadid of Chile and Danka Bartekova of Slovakia registered a score of 120/125, to make the final of the women’s skeet event at the Paris Olympics 2024 in the last two places. They were also tied with Gabriela Rodriguez of Mexico and Nele Wibmer of Germany but pipped them to reach the six-women final via EQOR.
