Indian wrestler Aman S ehrawat completed a dominant 12-0 victory by technical superiority over fourth-seeded Albania’s Zelimkhan Abakarov in the Men's 57 kg freestyle e vent in the Paris Olympics 2024. This win propelled the Indian youngster to the semi-final against top-seeded Rei Higuchi at 9:45 pm IST. 

The 21-year-old also registered an incredible 10-0 win over North Macedonia's Vladimir Egorov.  In the quarterfinal,  Sehrawat took his first point after  Zelimkhan Abakarov failed to score in 30-second passivity. Then the Indian put a double ankle hold to take down the Albanian and delivered a couple of feat-lays to widen the gap. 

Aman Sehrawat, then,  quickly jumped to an 11-0 lead with the third roll of feat-lay and won the bout via technical superiority.   After the fight, the fourth-seed grappler from Albania challenged for the third feat-lay but lost his appeal, giving Sehrawat one more point to take his score to 12-0.

The Indian wrestling contingent has had a horrific Summer Games as Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the final of the Women's 50 kg freestyle event after failing to make weight.  Nisha Dahiya suffered an arm injury in her bout which resulted in her defeat and one of the favourites, Antim Phagal, was knocked out with a 0-10 loss in her opening round.
