Used to support this team every year even after disappointment every year. Uncle used to sit till midnight to watch KXIP matches. Father passed away in 2021. Uncle passed away (a) few months ago. This win means so so much to me.” Reacting to the tweet, PBKS gave a heartwarming remark and wrote, “This win is for you and them!”

Shreyas Iyer looking to script history

Shreyas Iyer will look to lead Punjab to the trophy win and become the first captain to win two consecutive trophies for two different sides. In 2014, under his leadership, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won their third title after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final of the season.

This year, he again proved his leadership prowess by helping Punjab advance to the playoffs for the first time after 11 years. Expectations will be high from him and his team for the upcoming Qualifier 1, which is scheduled to be played on May 29. Kings will either take on Gujarat Titans (GT) or Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the huge contest.
