Amid their dismal outing at the ongoing CWC 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and its members have been under the radar. Amid this, former Pakistan cricketer, Danish Kaneria has lashed out at the board for “downgrading the morale of its cricketers”.

While the cricketer also spoke of the latest developments, also throwing light on Babar Azam’s leaked WhatsApp chat and Inzamam-ul-Haq’s resignation as Chief Selector. In a post on X, Kaneria wrote, “While Team Afghanistan is focusing more on cricket and less on politics, Team Pakistan is focused less on cricket and more on geopolitics. @TheRealPCB is downgrading the morale of its cricketers by constantly issuing removal warnings to the captain in case of poor performance.”

“This is happening when team selection is already under question. B abar Azam’s private chats have been leaked and Inzamam-ul-Haq has stepped down a chief selector after his alleged involvement in player management company,” he further added concluding that the side is going through a worse phase.

While the Babar Azam-led side began their campaign, winning two games on the trot, they were handed defeat at the hands of India, Australia, Afghanistan and South Africa.
