The Shan Masood-led Men in Green are taking on Australia in a three-match Test series. While the visitors lost the first by a 360-run margin, the hosts finally sealed the series after clinching the Boxing Day Test at the MCG on Friday, 29 December. Having put some 300-plus runs to chase to register a win, the side lost the second with one final match to go. 

But early on Friday, a report surfaced which stated that the Pakistan cricketers will be fined for “ill-discipline” in the dressing room. The PCB has reportedly decided to impose a hefty USD 500 fine on cricketer who will be found sleeping inside the dressing room during match hours. “The players have been warned and informed about the development. It is done on the instructions of Team Director Mohammad Hafeez,” a source was quoted.

Seeing this development, the players will now be closely monitored at all times during match hours. The sources further added that under the previous management, Pakistan players were not penalised for sleeping during match hours. However, with the new management taking over the duties, have imparted that anyone found guilty of violating the code of conduct will be fined USD 500.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board hasn’t released any official statement in regard to the same, but the is said to take this very seriously.

Speaking of Pakistan’s recent run, the side have had some drastic changes as Babar Azam stepped down from captaincy after the team’s dismal performance at the ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Moreover, the entire coaching staff and the support staff has been changed with Mohammad Hafeez taking over the Team Director role, replacing Mickey Arthur.
