Stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma turned out to be the star as Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended the IPL 2025 league stage with a six-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Cricket Stadium. Chasing a huge target ogf 228 runs, Jitesh scored an unbeaten 85*(33) runs as RCB achieved their highest successful chase in IPL history.
With this win, RCB also ended at the top-two in the points table and will now face Punjab Kings in the first qualifier in Mullanpur on May 29. Batting first, LSG posted a massive 22/7 on board with skipper Rishabh Pant smashing an unbeaten 118*(61) runs. In reply, RCB chase the down the winning total in just 18.4 overs losing four wickets.

Chasing a huge target, RCB got a flying start as Phil Salt and Virat Kohli added 61 runs for the first wicket in 5.4 overs. Salt got out after scoring 30(19) runs while Kohli scored 54 runs off 30 balls. However, RCB got a mini heart attack after a great start as they were reduced to 123/4 after 11.2 overs. After that, Jitesh Sharma and Mayank Agarwal took charge of the innings and put up an unbeaten partnership of 107 runs for the fifth wicket.
Agarwal remained unbeaten on 41(23) runs hitting five boundaries while Jitesh smashed 85 runs off 33 balls hitting eight fours and six sixes. Jitesh smashed a six to finish things off for RCB as the men in Red and Gold registered a famous win.
