Sneh Rana turned out to be a star with the ball for India Women so far in the ongoing first ODI of a three-match series against England Women at The Ageas Bowl in Hampshire. As England skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt and Emma Lamb were about to make a big partnership, Rana struck at the right time to dismiss both the set batter in quick successions as England Women were restricted to 97/4 after 20.1 overs.
Talking about the match, batting first after winning the toss, England Women lost their first in the second over as Kranti Goud cleared Amy Jones’ (1 off 7) to give India Women a first breakthrough. On the last ball of the fourth over, Goud struck again as Tamsin Beaumont got out after scoring just five runs off seven balls. England Women were reduced to 20/2 after four overs before Emma Lamb took charge of the innings along with skipper Nat-Sciver Brunt.

Taking the innings further after 20/2, Emma Lamb and Nat-Sciver Brunt put up a partnership of 71 runs for the third wicket. As the partnership was becoming more dangerous for India Women, Sneh Rana struck at the right time as she dismissed Emma in the 19th over. Emma got out after scoring 39 runs off 50 balls hitting four boundaries. An over later, Rana struck again as she ended Nat Sciver-Brunt’s innings in the 20th over followed by an spectacular catch by Jemimah Rodrigues.
In an attempt to go for a single with flick, Nat Sciver found Rodrigues near mid-wicket. Rodrigues took a stunning flying catch to end England Women skipper’s innings. Nat Sciver got out after scoring 41(52) runs hitting five boundaries. Alice Davidson-Richards also got out after a well-made 52(73) runs. Currently, Sophia Dunkley is taking the innings further along with Alice Davidson-Richards as England Women aim to give India Women a competitive target.
