The Premier League has announced the dates for the 2023/24 season. The EPL will be starting on Saturday, August 12 , 2023. The PL also confirmed that the final match day of the season will be played on Sunday 19 May 2024, when all matches will be starting at the same time simultaneously as usual.

The 2023-24 season schedule returns to normality after the chaos caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the FIFA World Cup 2022. These two global events caused multiple breaks during the previous three seasons. The Premier League will also take up the commitment which was made to clubs this season regarding the congested schedule across Christmas and New Year.

The PL will also have no two-game weeks within 48 hours of each other. The schedule also brings back the return of the mid-season player break, which will take place between January 13-20. The season will be played across 34 weekends, three-midweek rounds and one Bank Holiday match round.

The start date of Saturday, August 12 gives the tournament 76 clear days from the end of the 2022/23 season. With the Premier League finishing on 19 May 2024. This scheduling will also allow players to rest between the end of the season and the international fixtures in June.

Premier League clubs also approved the introduction of the Premier League Fan Engagement Standard (FES), which will be implemented by clubs this season. The FES helps reinforce the League and clubs’ commitment towards a long-term and fruitful engagement with supporters.

In approval the FES will also introduce a Fan Advisory Board which will have the primary purpose of creating discussion, exchanging information and receiving feedback from a fan’s perspective. The Fan Advisory Board will be a consultative body representative of club supporters.
