Southampton forward Che Adams scored a brace to help his team make a late comeback against Leicester City in the Premier League 2022-23 at the King Power Stadium. With the win on Saturday, the Saints get their first Premier League win in nine games since they won in April.

Southampton played the youngest starting line-up in Premier League since May 2017 as they fielded with an average age of 23 years and 238 days against Leicester City.

Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison gave his team a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute as he scored a stunning freekick from 25 yards. The Foxes dominated the game before the substitution of Sekou Mara for the match-winner Che Adams after 59 minutes in the game.

Che Adams last scored for Southampton six months ago in February, however, the Scottish took less than 10 minutes to score his first goal. The 26-year-old forward tapped in from seven yards out as Leicester failed to clear a long throw-in. Adams scored an acrobatic volley after 16 minutes to give his side a one-goal lead in the 84th minute.

With the win, Southampton climbed to the 12th spot in the Premier League points table while Leicester dropped to the 18th place after failing to register a single victory in their three opening games this season. Leicester will now face Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge on August 27, on the other hand, Southampton will host Manchester United in their next Premier League outing on next Saturday.
