The growing popularity of the T20 leagues around the world has left everyone impressed and amazed. While Indian Premier League has surpassed every other league in the world in terms of popularity and revenue, a top-seeded Pakistan batter believes otherwise.

The player’s draft for the 2023 edition of the Pakistan Super League took place on Thursday, and Pakistan cricket fraternity including current players associated with the league attended the event. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s prolific wicketkeeper batter Md. Rizwan, who leads Multan Sultans in the PSL, made a statement in regards with PSL vs IPL and left everyone talking.

“Humko pata hain ki PSL ne deniya ko hairan kar diya hain. Shuru me baatein ho rahi thi ki PSL kamyaam nahi hoga, but abhi hamein khud, as a player feel ho raha hain ki ye PSL ne kya dhoom macha di hain dunya me. Hum key rahe hain ki IPL hain, but iss time duniya ke players se pucha jaye, jo yaha se khelke jaate hain, vo keh rahe hain ki duniya ki sabse tough lague Pakistan ki hain.

(PSL has impressed everyone in the entire world. Fingers were raised and PSL was question over its success. IPL is there, but if you ask any foreign player, who has played in the league, will admit that PSL is the toughest league in the world),” Rizwan said during his interaction with the reporters ahead of the draft.

He further added that even reserve players sit on the bench in PSL. “Pakistan is getting a good backup player, and bench is getting more strength. PSL should get credit for that,” Rizwan added.

While IPL started in 2008 and has witnessed as many as 15 seasons, Pakistan’s T20 league, on the other hand, started in the year 2016. The next edition of Pakistan Super League is scheduled to take place next year from February 9 to March 19 in Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
