The Monday evening saw the two new teams in the Indian Premier League taking on each other at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans put on some impressive performances to make the game interesting. Both teams impressed with the new ball with Gujarat enjoying an upper hand because of two extra wickets in the powerplay.
However, despite some early blows, both teams made a comeback making the game a thrilling one. While it was Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni for Lucknow, it was Hardik Pandya and Matthew Wade for Gujarat. However, Lucknow made a comeback in the middle overs as Krunal Pandya, and Deepak Hooda dismissed Hardik and Wade in their respective overs. But in the end, KL Rahul and Co. faltered with Tewatia and Miller charging and eventually lost the game.
