Although the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has been put to halt, but the Men in Blue have a jam-packed schedule starting June 2021. India will be traveling to UK for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand. They will be up against England after the WTC final for a five-match Test series. The series will commence on August 4, with the first match to be played in Nottingham.
Rahul Dravid predicts India's win over England 3-2
The former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid has been winning hearts after his ad on anger issues went viral. But recently, after the BCCI announced the 20-member squad , Dravid predicted India's fate for the upcoming England tour. In a recent webinar conducted by Live Aid India(a trust to help those affected by Covid-19), the Director of the National Cricket Academy, Rahul Dravid, said, "I do believe India has the best chance this time. India can win the 5-match Test series by 3-2. This is their best chance after 2007". Notably, Dravid was the last captain to win a Test Series in England, and he also has the best batting average of 68.8 in Tests played in the UK.
Dravid also said, "There's no question about their [England's] bowling. Whatever bowling attack England put on the field, especially their seam-bowling attack, is going to be fantastic."
Dravid is excited about the battle between Ben Stokes and Ravichandran Ashwin. He expects Ashwin to perform as good as he performed in India against them. The 48-year-old thinks that the team that won handsomely in Australia has a massive chance of winning the series in England this time.
India can play Ashwin and Jadeja together: Rahul Dravid
Rahul Dravid also set a warning for the Indian batsmen stating, "In England, if there's one thing you've always got to respect, it's the conditions."
Dravid believes that India can play Ashwin and Jadeja together, which is not usually seen when we play overseas. Regarding this, he mentioned, "Yeah, why not?", "I mean, India has had success with that kind of line-up and especially with the way Ashwin and Jadeja have been batting at the moment, it gives them the best all-round balance.
