India’s two different squads are touring two different nations at the moment. While one squad is currently in Ireland for a two-match T20I series the final of which is being played at The Village in Dublin, India’s main squad is in England for the fifth rescheduled Test. However, the Men in Blue will also play a white-ball series after the only Test on the tour concludes.

India will play 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs against England after the fifth rescheduled Test. While the squad for the Test match is all finalized, the players who will feature in the six white-ball games are yet to be named by BCCI’s Selection Committee. And it seems quite a few names from the current squad in Ireland will be there in England to compete in the T20Is and ODIs.

As per the information available with SportsTiger, a few players including captain Hardik Pandya have been asked to wait in Ireland while the rest of the squad flies back to India after the 2-match T20I series against Ireland concludes. The names that will be flying back to India include Venkatesh Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Arshdeep Singh, Rahul Tripathi, and Ravi Bishnoi.

“Ruturaj Gaikwad, Arshdeep Singh, Rahul Tripathi, Venkatesh Iyer, and Ravi Bishnoi will fly back to India after the Ireland series. Rest players have been asked to wait,” informed a source to SportsTiger. It’s worth noting that only Umran Malik has been asked to stay among the new names that were announced for the two T20Is against Ireland.

This could also mean that the BCCI Selection Committee is considering adding Malik to the squad for England series. It can also mean that the pacer from J&K is in the scheme of things for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia.
