The Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to select Rajasthan fast bowler Aniket Choudhary as a net bowler for Team India for the World Test Championship 2023. Chowdhary has been a mainstay in Rajasthan’s domestic side and has allowed in the Indian Premier League for teams like Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. 


As per Rajasthan Cricket Association, the Indian Senior Selection Committee has selected Choudhary for intensive preparations for Team India's batsmen for the Test match in Oval, London (England) from June 7 to June 11, 2023, which has a wicket with extra bounce. Aniket Choudhary is set to join Team India in Mumbai on May 22 and will travel to England for the World Test Championship.


Aniket Choudhary hails from  Bikaner, Rajasthan and made his Ranji Trophy at the age of 21. Since then he has picked up 247 wickets for his state in the first-class format. Similarly, he has also picked up 131 wickets in domestic white ball cricket. Choudhary has been with the Indian team as a net bowler on tours to New Zealand and Bangladesh in 2017. He was also picked up to play for the India A side but since has failed to come close to the national team. 


Ahead of the World Test Championship, the Indian team suffered two big injuries as KL Rahul and Jaydev Undakat got hurt in the ongoing IPL season. Undakat injured his shoulder during a Lucknow Super Giants practice session while Rahul hurt his leg while fielding against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
