South Africa batsman Rassie van der Dussen is unlikely to feature in IPL 2021 for the Rajasthan Royals after he has reportedly failed to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from his home country's cricket board. Although the star Protea wasn't part of the Rajasthan Royals squad originally, he was roped in as a replacement for Ben Stokes after the all-rounder was ruled out with a broken finger.
A report carried by ESPNCricinfo now claims that van der Dussen hasn't been able to obtain the NOC from Cricket South Africa owing to an unspecified injury. The report, however, claimed that the 32-year-old had obtained a visa to travel to India which is battling COVID-19 crisis.
Royals up against CSK on Wednesday
After completing a great performance against SRH led by Jos Buttler's hundred and a clinical performance on the field, Royals will be up against CSK in their next match on Wednesday. MS Dhoni-led Chennai are currently at the top of the table but will head into this contest on the back of a defeat. Meanwhile, RR would look to take the confidence from this match and stitch a few wins together even when they are worst hit with regards to overseas player availability issues.
