Indian players Ravichandran Ashwin and Cheteshwar Pujara shared a hilarious interaction based on Pujara’s bowling in the fourth Test match between India and Australia. The final Border-Gavaskar Test ended as a draw after both captains decided to declare the game just ahead of tea on Day 5.

Here in these dying moments, as the game turned into a dead rubber, Indian captain Rohit Sharma decided to bring top order batters Shubman Gill and Pujara in for a bowl. Both batters delivered one over each and conceded a combined two runs.

Reacting to Pujara's bowling, Ashwin posted a tweet saying, “Main kya karu? Job chod du?” This was is a reference to a viral meme by a stand-up video from comedian Abhishek Upamanyu which translates to - “What should I do? Leave my job?”.

Then responding to Ashwin, Pujara stated that his bowling was a gesture of gratitude towards the off-spinner as he batted at the number 3 spot in the first Test. He tweeted, “Nahi. This was just to say thank you for going 1 down in Nagpur.” Ashwin then concluded this interaction as he was left confused with Pujara’s method of saying thank you. He shared, “Your intent is appreciated but wonder how this is a payback”

The Test series ended on a positive note for Ashwin as he was named the Player of the Series with his spin twin Ravindra Jadeja. The pair dominated Aussie batters throughout the tournament. The Saurashtra all-rounder, in the post-game interview, spoke about his relationship with Ashwin.

He said, “It feels good bowling with him. He (Ashwin) is passing on information. What field to have, how to bowl to a particular batsman. I am not too happy with my batting in this series. I missed out on a few occasions especially in this Test. I will work harder and focus on my batting. He is more of everything. He has a good cricketing brain. He knows every team in the world and every series that is being played.”
