The International Cricket Council (ICC) has finally issued a verdict on the Ravindra Jadeja controversy. The Indian all-rounder who stole the show on his come with a five-wicket haul and a well-made half century in the India innings, he also hogged the limelight for wrong reasons.

 

The ace all-rounder who was caught applying pain-relieving ointment in the 46 th  over during the Australia first inning, a lot of eyebrows were raised on the matter. The ICC has now imposed a fine of 25 per cent on the 34-year-old for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.  

 

He has been handed one demerit point for the disciplinary record during the recently concluded first Test. He has been punished, having found guilty of breaching Article 2.20 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. This fine comes after Jadeja applied the soothing cream without the permission of the on-field umpires.

Talking about the match, the Rohit Sharma-led side came out victorious, taking a 1-0 lead in the four-match series. Along with an all-round show from Ravindra Jadeja, Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin stole the show for the Men in Blue.
