The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final is set to be played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3. Both, RCB and PBKS have been two of the most consistent teams in the IPL 2025, and with that, they made the final of the coveted tournament after a long time in their illustrious history.
With T20 cricket becoming more of a batters game, especially in the IPL over the past couple of years, the toss factor has become more important than ever before. Teams in the IPL 2025 have mostly preferred to chase totals, since the dew plays a huge part in almost all of the matches in the league, making it tougher for the captains and bowlers to defend the runs with the wet ball.
Toss factor at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in IPL 2025
As far as the IPL 2025 final is concerned, the toss might not be a decisive factor in deciding the result especially with the fact that the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has bucked the trend of win the toss and chase in comparison to some of the other venues of the tournament. A lot will depend on how RCB and PBKS will perform in the final, but regardless, the fans will see a new winner in the IPL after three years.

RCB toss records in IPL 2025
It might not come as a surprise that RCB haven’t decided to bat first after winning the toss in the entire IPL 2025 season, leading up to the final. RCB not only have won eight away matches in a row in the IPL this year, but also tasted victories six times in the run chase after winning the toss seven times.

PBKS toss records in IPL 2025
PBKS have employed a healthy balance of batting and bowling first after winning the toss, and they have achieved a decent number of victories doing both. At the same time, it is very important to note that PBKS had to play their seven home matches across three venues, which isn’t an easy thing to do for any team at the best of times.
Matches played in IPL 2025: 16
Won the toss and chose to bat first: 5 (Wins 3, Losses 1, NR 1)
Won the toss and chose to field first: 6 (Wins 5, Losses 1)
All in all, both RCB and PBKS have been very good at chasing totals, while the latter are slightly better in defending totals, but regardless of who wins the toss and decides to either bat or field first, IPL 2025 final might just turn out to be the match of the tournament. Ultimately, one of these two teams will end up emerging as the new winners of the IPL, breaking their jinx which has lasted for more than 17 years.
