Arguably among the Greatest of All Times (GOAT), 20-time Grand Slam title winner Roger Federer recently bid farewell to professional Tennis and informed that the upcoming Laver Cup 2022 in London will be his last appearance. The sudden decision from the Swiss legend took the sporting fraternity by storm as many expressed their shock and poured their heart out by paying tribute to the legend's illustrious career.
Meanwhile, Federer's last participation in the Laver Cup will be extra special as it would be the last occasion when the famous 'Fab-4' comprising Novak Djokovic, Rafale Nadal and Andy Murray will be in action while teaming up for the Europe team.
The buzz over the competition is already skyrocketing with the fact that Federer will play the game for the last time. And now fresh reports have suggested that the reigning Champions League and La Liga winner Real Madrid is mulling to host an exhibition Tennis match between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at their newly renovated Santiago Bernabeu stadium in front of 80,000 spectators. According to fresh reports, football giants have thought of hosting this iconic contest a day after 41-year-old Federer announced his decision to retire.
Earlier, Federer's close friend and arch-rival in the court expressed his admiration for the legend via a social media post. "Dear Roger, my friend and rival. I wish this day would have never come. It’s a sad day for me personally and for sports around the world. It’s been a pleasure but also an honour and privileged to share all these years with you, living so many amazing moments on and off the court,” he wrote in his lengthy note.
