Real Madrid are reportedly set to announce the signing of Kylian Mbappe, the French footballing superstar, on a free transfer next week. The 25-year-old had confirmed his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain last month after being a part of the French club for seven long years, opened the prospect of his highly anticipated transfer to Real Madrid this summer.
Notably, Fayza Mamari, the mother of Kylian Mbappe, admitted to the media that her son will be signing “where everybody knows,” although there has been no formal announcement to the contrary as of yet. Real Madrid also wanted to wait till the end of the season to release a public statement about signing Kylian Mbappe, and now, they can go ahead with the announcement after the team won their 15th UEFA Champions League title against Borussia Dortmund, defeating them 2-0 in the final last night.
Fabrizio Romano, the Italian journalist, took to his official X account on Sunday, June 2, and confirmed that the documents for the transfer of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid have been signed, sealed, and completed. He also revealed that the Galacticos will announce their latest signing next week before stating that the Frenchman can now be considered as their new player.
Moreover, Real Madrid will not be able to present Kylian Mbappe to their fans until mid-July because France are currently preparing to play the UEFA European Championship in Germany this summer. Also, with Mbappe’s move to Madrid being imminent, it will be interesting to see whether he will play for France at the home Olympics in late July and early August.
The city of Madrid will be in celebratory mood later today with Real holding a trophy parade around the city hall, the statue of Cibeles before reaching the iconic Santiago Bernabeu in front of their fans.
