Red Dead Redemption, the critically acclaimed Western action-adventure game by Rockstar Games, is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The official announcement trailer was released on August 7, 2023, revealing the release date, price, and features of the port.
The story of former outlaw John Marston, who journeys across the vast expanses of the American West and Mexico in search of the last surviving members of the infamous Van der Linde Gang in an effort to save his family, is told in Red Dead Redemption, one of the most celebrated video games ever with more than 170 Game of the Year Awards.
"Undead Nightmare," the revered story expansion that reimagines the world of Red Dead Redemption as Marston battles to survive a relentless zombie horde and searches for a cure in a spooky, supernatural twist on the Western genre, is also included with Red Dead Redemption on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
On the PlayStation store page, Red Dead Redemption is only listed as "Announced," but it has a digital listing on the Nintendo eShop that shows it to be $49.99. It is available for $29.99 on Xbox 360 (through backward compatibility on Xbox One and Series X/S), with the Undead Nightmare pack costing $9.99, which takes the total to $39.98. However, "bonus content from the Game of the Year edition" is included in the PS4 and Switch ports.
