Charles “Chuck” Clark Jr, the strong safety of New York Jets, had sent the NFL world into a frenzy on social media recently. The fans of the 28-year-old player were shocked as he was rumored to be dead via suicide. The Philadelphia native’s journey in the sport began when he got selected by the Baltimore Ravens as the 186th pick in the sixth round of the NFL draft in 2017.

A Twitter user, goes by the handle @LIVERavenNation, broke the news that Chuck had taken his own life due to mental health issues. Their tweet read, “An icon. RIP Chuck. Mental health is real. Prayers for his family tonight.”

Most of the fans of Charles Clark Jr, poured in on social media to show their respect and pray for the NFL player, without confirming the news of his death from official sources. No major news outlet reported the story and Chuck’s family didn’t release an obituary either.

What added to the confusion was a Twitter user with the handle @PurpleReignEra, using the name Chuck, making their last tweet presumably. Their tweet read, “Sorry gang. I hope the Ravens do well but this will be my last tweet from me. Thanks for all the debates and laughs lol,” but they turned out to be the fan page of Chuck. Notably, the Twitter account of Charles Clark Jr, goes by the handle @ChuckC36.

Meanwhile, the rumours of Charles “Chuck” Clark Jr’s death began in the first place because there was a man named Chuck from Baltimore, presumed to be a Ravens fan, who had allegedly taken his own life. This person, whose Instagram handle goes by “hotboychuckie,” had posted an story on the platform which read, “Anyways this my last post fr. And don’t be sad. I had fun life like nah fr lol I kno I lived a great life. Bye, y’all.”
