Delhi Capitals haven't had the kind of IPL campaign they had expected. The franchise is currently placed in the seventh position and has just four wins and five defeats after participating in nine games. Despite unlikely results, Rishabh Pant has emerged as one of the strong prospects as a leader and is often applauded by many for his bowling and field changes.

Rishabh has been hot & cold with the bat, and currently, his side is in a must-win situation to qualify for the playoffs. But, Lalit Yadav, who has emerged as one of the vital cogs in the squad due to his swashbuckling batting style and exceptional fielding, has shown a lot of confidence in his skipper and recently said that Pant has the perfect mind to lead the side and accurately reads the opponent batters.

While speaking to Time of India, Lalit recalled an incident from the previous season when Pant's advice helped the all-rounder to dismiss the likes of Eoin Morgan and Sunil Narine. Lalit said, "Initially, I was not comfortable with the way Pant set the fielding. But he walked up to me and said, 'tu bas ball daal, zyada se zyada chauka lagega na.' Eventually, I ended up taking two crucial wickets in that over."

Speaking about the team's over-dependence on the Prithvi Shaw and David Warner, Lalit said that both the openers are world-class batters and possess the capability to change the game. "If they are able to lay solid foundations for the team, eventually team performs well," added Lalit.

The Delhi all-rounder, who has earned a lot of appreciation for his outstanding piece of fielding, shared that he has been working really hard, and the presence of Mohammed Kaif in the squad last season helped him to improve.
