Rishabh Pant, who is the costliest player of the Indian Premier League (IPL), hasn’t been in great form for Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league. With the bat, he has scored only 135 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 100.00 while as captain, he has failed to prove himself as Super Giants are out of the playoffs contention after winning five games in 12 outings. In these tough times, Pant has become a favourite for social media trolls and his critics. Apart from that, there were also reports coming that he might be not retained by LSG in the next IPL season. Journalist Vaibhav Bhola shared the report that the wicket-keeper might get released by the franchise after IPL 2025. However, Pant himself rejected the claims while replying to the post on X.
Rishabh Pant took to X and responded to Bhola’s tweet, writing, “I understand fake News gives more traction To content but let’s not built everything around it. Little sense and credible news will help more rather making fake news with agenda. Thanks have a good day . Let’s be responsible and sensible what we put out on social media.”
Rishabh Pant will look to be among the runs for India in upcoming England Test series
After the conclusion of IPL 2025, LSG skipper Pant will look to regain his form while donning India whites in the upcoming five-match Test series to be played in England from June 20 to August 4. The southpaw has toured England twice (2018 and 2021) for Tests and his experience will be crucial for the side.
His responsibility will be to bolster Team India’s batting unit while playing at the middle order. In English conditions, Pant has played nine matches and has scored 556 runs in 17 innings at an average of 32.70.
