England (ENG) are facing India (IND) in the second fixture of the three-match T20I series at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The Indian team are coming into this game after a clinical victory by 50 runs in the first game of the series, courtesy of Hardik Pandya's brilliance. Ahead of this game, Men in Blue included their experienced players, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah to the line-up. On the other hand, the home team handed a debut cap to Richard Gleeson and recalled David Willey.

India started on a brilliant note, with Rohit Sharma as the key aggressor in the first two overs, while waving his bat at everything. Soon, Rishabh Pant followed his suit to stamp his authority over the opposition's bowling unit. However, Sharma could not convert his start into a big one and was dismissed for 31 off 20 by debutant Gleeson.

The dismissal of the skipper did not make enough impact on Pant's approach as he started the next over of Moeen Ali with a six over the long-off boundary. In the next ball, Pant displayed his stylish whip to send the ball towards the deep square area for a four. A similar shot had also helped the 24-year-old to bring up his fifty in the recent Test match against the Three Lions.

Richard Gleeson and Chris Jordan destroy the Indian batting line-up

Playing in his debut international match, Gleeson was terrific with his pace and accuracy. After dismissing Sharma with a quick bouncer, he followed it up to take another two wickets. Pant charged towards him, but only managed to find an inside-edge caught by Jos Buttler and made his way back for 26 off 15. In the next delivery. Kohli (1) mistimed the ball, which was brilliantly caught by David Malan in the short third-man region. It is evident that Gleeson is the highest wicket-taker in the ongoing T20 Blast as well.

The experienced campaigner took the key wickets of Suryakumar Yadav (15) and Pandya (12) in quick succession, which has left Team India reeling at 89/5 in the 11th over. It will be interesting to see if Dinesh Karthik and Ravindra Jadeja can lead the fight back for the visitors.
