Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul, who has been out for a while with a thigh injury, recently took to Instagram to thank the staff at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) that has helped him during his rehabilitation in the past months. Rahul was expected to be back in the 11 at the 2023 Asia Cup, but he delayed his return as a precaution.

Rahul suffered a thigh injury while fielding during the IPL 2023 and has been on the sidelines since. The top-order batsman is back in time for the Super Fours stage of the Asia Cup and is likely to play a crucial role for India in the World Cup. Rahul also expressed his gratitude to the doctor and the medical staff at Wellington Hospital in London for his successful surgery and shared his feelings about how difficult the previous few months had been for him.
“Reflecting on my journey in the last few months, which has been filled with challenges and lessons. The road has been humbling. A big shoutout to Nitin sir, Yogesh sir, Rajini sir, Dhananjay Bhai, Shalini and everyone at the NCA for your efforts and commitment towards getting me back on the ground ❤️Special mention to the team at Wellington Hospital in London and Dr. Rahul Patel for a smooth op.Lastly, to the BCCI for the constant support and belief." Rahul wrote along with photographs with the team at NCA.
Another wicketkeeper-batsman who is going through rehabilitation, Rishabh Pant, was quick to comment on his teammate's post. Pant commented, "👏🙌". Rahul’s wife and actress, Athiya Shetty, and her father, Suniel Shetty, were also quick to comment. Former Indian Cricketer and commentator Irfan Pathan also wished the wicket-keeper batsman well, writing, “ Go well buddy”.

Rahul is expected to play a part in the ongoing Asia Cup and is included in India's 15-man squad for the ICC World Cup 2023, which is slated to begin on October 5. KL Rahul was included after being declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and has been practising in the nets.
