India Legends have played three games so far but two of them were abandoned. In one game that India Legends played against South Africa Legends, the Sachin Tendulkar-led team won the match comprehensively. Meanwhile, England Legends were hammered in their first match against Sri Lanka Legends. Their second match against South Africa Legends was abandoned while they lost their third match to West Indies Legends. Now, the two teams will lock horns on Thursday eyeing two more points and staying alive in the competition.
The pitch at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium is a good wicket to bat on upfront. However, it deteriorates as the game progresses. Teams batting first get an advantage here.
Sachin Tendulkar-led India Legends have fared decently so far in the tournament. Although they have got only one complete game, India Legends have shown great team effort. In their match against South Africa Legends, the team put on a mammoth 217/4 on the board. India Legends then won the game by 61 runs.
In their last game against New Zealand Legends, India batted for a few overs before rain interrupted and the match was called off. In those overs, captain Sachin Tendulkar looked in great touch. He hit four boundaries all coming off glorious shots. Now, as the team prepares to take on England Legends, all eyes will be on Sachin. Stuart Binny is also expected to play a crucial role.
Sachin Tendulkar (C), Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel, Subramaniam Badrinath, Harbhajan Singh, Naman Ojha, Manpreet Gony, Stuart Binny, Vinay Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun, Pragyan Ojha, Rajesh Pawar, and Rahul Sharma.
Ian Bell-led England Legends are yet to get a win in the second edition of the Road Safety World Series. They have been defeated by Sri Lanka Legenda and West Indies Legends. Now, they will have the challenge of facing India Legends who are the defending champions. England Legends recovered well from their first defeat and put on a decent batting performance in the game against West Indies Legends.
But the score was belittled by the likes of Dwayne Smith and William Perkins. The bowlers lacked potency and it was another defeat for ENG-L. Now, if the team wants to stay alive in the competition, they will have to find a way to defeat India Legends.
Ian Bell (c), Phil Mustard, Nicholas Compton, Darren Maddy, Chris Tremlett, James Tindall, Darren Stevens, Stephen Parry, Tim Ambrose, Rikki Clarke, Chris Schofield, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Jade Dernbach, Mal Loye.
India Legends have some quality batters in the form of Sachin Tendulkar, Naman Ojha, and Suresh Raina. Plus, they have momentum on their side. Therefore, India Legends are favourite to win the match.
