Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden advance to Round of 16 after 7-5, 6-3 win in Wimbledon 2023

The pair of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden will now face the pair of Reese Stalder (USA) and David Pel (Netherlands) in the Round of 16.

India’s ace tennis star Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden progressed into the Round of 16 after a win in their Round of 32 on Monday, July 10. The Indian-Australian duo beat the Great Britain pair of Jacob Fearnley and Johannus Monday 7-5, 6-3 to advance in the round three of the tournament.

The India-Australian duo outshined their opponent in an hour and nine minutes to seal the match in two straight sets. The pair of Bopanna and Ebden were on top of their game from the start of it as they won the game having clinched maximum points on first serve, eventually winning the game with 66 points over their opponent who could only add 51 points.

The Indo-Australia duo earlier advanced into the second round of the men’s doubles event after overcoming the Argentine duo of Guillermo Duran and Tomas Etcheverry. The sixth seeded pair beat the unseeded duo 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 in the opening match which lasted for two hours and 12 minutes.

The pair of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden will now face the pair of Reese Stalder (USA) and David Pel (Netherlands) in the Round of 16.
