Team India captain Rohit Sharma guided the team to another ICC title triumph as he played a match-winning knock of 76 runs in summit clash to help beat New Zealand by four wickets and an over to spare. With this, he got home another ICC title after earlier winning the T20 World Cup in June 2025, beating South Africa in Barbados.

Although he garnered praise from all over for his crucial knock, Rohit Sharma also brought in his notoriously famous forgetful character after the team’s title win. Addressing the media in the post-match press conference in Dubai, Rohit Sharma forget to take the coveted trophy with him.

In videos making rounds on social media, Rohit Sharma left netizen in splits as he forgot to the ICC Champions Trophy in the press room whereas he thanked all and began to walk out. However, the Indian team’s media manager was quick to pick it up and take it with him.

Notably, this isn’t first instance of Rohit Sharma’s trademark fortgetfullness as he was struck again in an interaction. Speaking at the press conference Rohit said, "Humare liye to wo 50 over World Cup, World Cup jais hai par isme (referring to the Champions Trophy 2025 trophy) koi kami nahi hai... Arrey aap mujhe pucho kitna wo lagta hai ye jeetne ke liye (For us, that 50-over World Cup (2023 tournament) was like a World Cup—but there's nothing lacking in it (referring to the Champions Trophy)... Oh, just ask me how hard it is to win it!"

 

 

 

In the post-match conference, the 37-year-old also put rest to his retirement rumours. When asked of his future plans in the post-match press conference, the star batter and skipper laughed off the question at first and replied, “Koi future plan ni hai. Jo chal ra hai wo chalega (There’s no future plan, things will keep on going as they are). I'm not going to retire from this format. Just to make sure that no rumours are spread moving forward."
