Team India's ODI & T20I skipper Rohit Sharma congratulated outgoing Test skipper Virat Kohli on his successful stint as the Indian Test captain for 7 long years. Kohli's decision to quit as skipper of the Test Team has left everyone in shock and he has received plenty of wishes from cricketers and fans. Team India players also took to social media to congratulate Kohli on his captaincy and expressed how it was a pleasure to have played under Kohli's captaincy.

Meanwhile, opener Rohit Sharma was left shocked by Virat Kohli's decision to quit Test captaincy as he posted a message on Instagram. Rohit wrote, "Shocked!! But congratulations on a successful stint as Indian captain." He also wished Virat Kohli all the best for his future.

Ishant Sharma pens heartfelt note for Kohli

Indian pacer Ishant Sharma also posted a heartfelt note for Virat Kohli after he stepped down as India Test captain. The lanky pacer thanked Virat Kohli for the "amazing memories" Kohli gave to Team India as a skipper. Notably, Ishant has played with Virat since childhood.

He wrote, "Thank you for all the memories I’ve shared with you in dressing room and on and off the field since childhood, where we never thought that you would be our captain and I’ll play 100 test matches for India. All we did was just play cricket with all our heart and things worked out well."

Kohli holds the record for most Test appearances as India Test captain (68) and he also holds the record for most Test wins by an Indian captain (40).
